River City Speedway concluded the
2004 stock car racing season with the largest crowd
of the season of nearly 2000 fans and an all-time high
of 183 drivers entered the Larry Jauron Memorial Race
Saturday at the Columbia County Fairgrounds facility
in St. Helens. Dan Smith of Scappoose (sportsman) and
Don Jenner of Portland (modified), captured A Main
Event wins. Other Main Event winners included Micki
Mears of Castle Rock (women's division), Brian Baxter
of Elsie (PHRA), Dave Kingsbury of Lebanon (outlaws)
and Larry Lemons of Toledo (mini stock). The Columbia
County Racing Association awards banquet will be held
Nov. 13 at the Fairgrounds Pavillion.
